The more time I spend speaking to customers and researching IPTV services all over the world, the more I realise how little most people know about how these services work. Whilst most of Questions and Answers relate directly to IPTVFlicks services, there are equally applicable to any IPTV service offered in the market today. We will be updating our IPTV Frequently Asked Questions regularly to ensure they are up to date.
Q: I have an old TV, can I still access IPTV services?
Yes you can but you will need access to a Set Top Box (IPTV Media Box) that can access the internet as well as connect to your TV transmitting the images to it. There are lots of models out there from popular Android boxes, MAG Boxes, Enigma boxes and even Apple TV Boxes. IPTVFlicks does not sell TV boxes, we only supply you with the stream to be able to watch the IPTV channels.
Q: Do I need a IPTV Media Box?
Depending on the age of your TV, you might not have a choice but to use a IPTV Media Box. If you have a new TV which is also a Smart TV eg LG Smart TV, Samsung Smart TV or a Sony Smart TV which also allows for applications to be installed on it then you will likely not need an IPTV Media Box.
Applications which can be used on your Smart TV include Simple IPTV and the Simple Smart IPTV applications. The Simple IPTV app offers an initial free trial for a week then it is a once off 5.50 Euro payment. The Simple Smart IPTV application is free.
The advantage of an IPTV Media Box is that it can offer much more than just IPTV services. TV Boxes such as an Android and Apple TV, also allow you to install additional applications beyond just watching IPTV services. These services include subscribing to services such as Netflix, or watching your own media files, be they movies, home videos or music. It can also act as PC for playing games and surfing the internet.
Q: How much data do I need?
Watching IPTV for an hour is like downloading a movie which runs for an hour. If you assume that an hour long movie is between 500MB and 800MB then this will give you a guide as to how much data your internet plan should allow for. If you plan on watching an hour or two per day, then you will need atleast 30GB per month data allowance.
Q: Can I watch IPTV on my computer?
Setting up IPTV is really simple if you want to watch it on your computer. There are lots of Media Player programs which are free and can be used to watch IPTV channels eg VLC and KODI. Both of these software applications will allow you to enter the media link that we provide you with and enjoy all of the channels offered by IPTVFlicks.
Tools such as Google’s Chromecast can also be used to transmit the image from your computer directly to your TV. This will save you the need for a Media Box and allows you to centralise all your media on your computer. Google’s Chromecast can be purchased for around $50 from Google direct or most computer stores. Google Chromecase needs to be connected to your TV set.
You are also able to watch IPTVFlicks’s channels via your mobile phone or tablet by simply installing a media playing app and accessing our web link.
Q: What services does IPTVFlicks offer?
IPTVFlicks offers access to over 2000 international TV channels from countries such as Greece, Turkey, Italy, Germany, France, Netherlands, Romania and many others. This includes the most popular channels in these countries as well as some sports channels for watching live sport.
We offer these channels by way of a web link which is added to a media player enabling you to watch live TV. The web link is continuously updated by us so that you don’t need to source updated channels links. The cost of the web link is Euro 13 to start with and then Euro 16.30 every 30 days there after.
Q: Will I experience buffering with the IPTVFlicks service?
Buffering is usually caused by 3 key reasons, your internet speed, your hardware’s processor and the server through which you access your IPTV stream. If your internet download speed is fluctuating this can cause buffering. If your TV or media box is unable to handle the images being pushed to it (eg HD streams) this can also cause buffering and if the server through which you are watching the IPTV is being overloaded with requests from other users this can also cause it. You will likely experience some buffering when using the IPTVFlicks service but it will be very limited. This is why we offer a free 3 hour trial so that you can test it yourself.
If you are using VLC, KODI or a Smart TV application, you might also want to look into ways in which you can tweek your connection to reduce the amount of buffering you are experiencing.
Q: Can I optimise my VLC player for watching IPTV?
Here are a few tips on how to optimise your VLC setup for IPTV Streaming
- Open VLC player and select tools then click on preference
- At the bottom of the screen click on ALL radio button this will open all options to edit.
- Using the left panel that opens, find Stream Output and Increase the Stream output muxer caching(ms) to 5000 from the default 1500ms this mean we want to keep cache of 5 seconds in advance. You can play with this until it meets your needs.
Here is a temporary fix for when watching
- At the time of playing a network URL or streaming format .TS or .m3u file, you can select the cache size.
- Open VLC player and click on Media and then select Open network Stream(ctrl+n) to play a live url
- Type the url which u want to play and then click on Show more options check box.
- Now increase the cache size according to your network speed.
Common problem with VLC is this error – VLC is unable to open the MRL
This means that your firewall or your internet security options are now allowing VLC to access this link. This issue is not the channels being available but your security options. This link provides some assistance with resolving this problem.
Q: Do I have to sign up to a minimum contract term?
No, IPTVFlicks is a prepaid service, starting with a free 3 hour trial. Once you are happy with the service we offer a discounted first month which you pay upfront for Euro 13, following this you can renew your subscription for 30, or 90 days. Being prepaid you are in complete control of your spend and how long you use the service for.
Q: What is a M3U list and do you offer this?
An M3U list is a manually created list of TV channel references. The list is in plan text format and includes the channel reference number, channel name and the url where it can be sourced from. You can source your own M3U playlist and watch it on your IPTV media box, your Smart TV or your computer. This is free of charge however maintaining the list can take effort as the url where the channels are found can change. In some cases the channels sourced are also a web version of the actual channel (ie it cna switched off at certain times of the day).
IPTVFlicks provides a continuously updated weblink which incorporates the list of TV channels and maintains them for you. What you will receive from us is not a list of channels and their location but one link which you copy and paste into your media player. The link includes a username and password protecting its content.
Q: Can I share this weblink with others?
We continuously monitor the web links that we provide to our customers. If you are found sharing the link with others you subscription will be terminated and you will not receive a refund.

Q: Is your stream Live or delayed and is their playback?
IPTVFlicks offers a live stream of all of its 2000+ channels. There are several delayed channels included in the package but these only apply to a couple of Greek language channels. Beyond this, if your IPTV Media Box allows for recording of shows then you will be able to enable this on your own device (this is not a service we can support you with). Our channels are all LIVE and streamed live to you all of the time.
